WELCOME TO TOWN! I am so happy you’re here!

5-8 pm Drinks & Dinner on the River: Let’s meet at New Belgium Brewing (21 Craven St., Asheville, NC 28806, street parking available). They serve beer, hard seltzer, and tea, and the food trucks El Kimchi (Korean BBQ) and Outpost (burgers) will be there. Pick up your gift bag and scavenger hunt here!

After, we can wander into downtown and see where the night takes us.

8:30 am MORNING COFFEE: If you’re up for it, I’ll be at Cooperative Coffee (210 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806) before the adventure starts!

9 am GRAB TAKEOUT: Meet at Taco Billy to pick up takeout lunch. If you don’t want Taco Billy: Ultra (sandwiches) and Mamacitas (burritos) are good takeout options.

10 am -2ish

HIKE TO LUNCH: Meet at 10 am at the Dollar General in Black Mountain (129 Old Hwy 70 E, Black Mountain, NC 28711) to carpool up to the trailhead for the Lookout Trail in Montreat. It’s a little steep at the beginning, but lots of ways to hike this! BYO lunch! Details are in my email- I’ll have maps, bug spray, and sunscreen handy.

If you aren’t hiking, see email for ideas on places to check out around town. If you want to mountain-bike and need a bike, let me know!

Between the hike and the party, you’re welcome to come by my place!

6 pm - ? MAIN EVENT!

At the Pond Retreat Center (18 Garren Mtn Lane, Fairview, 28730)- follow signs for parking and carpool if you can! Come put your feet in the creek, play lawn games, and celebrate everybody turning 40 this year!! We’ll have grilled stuff & drinks (BYO beer/wine; I’ll have mojitos and non-alcoholic drinks), live music 7-9, and after that, a bonfire and s’mores with the fireflies, frogs, and more music:). Anyone’s welcome to camp out overnight, especially if you plan on drinking!

10 am - 12 pm LAZY BRUNCH at Urban Orchard! (24 Buxton Ave, Asheville, NC 28801, street parking available.) We’ll be cooking up fresh breakfast burritos. Scavenger hunt answers are DUE by noon to win prizes. If your travel plans permit you to stay later than this, let me know!!
